The information below is based on travel from the UK. We also offer Villa Les Aygals to anyone living outside the UK, but you will need to work out the best way to get there. The closest airports are Perpignan and Gerona. Beziers, Carcassonne and Barcelona airports are also within 2 hours drive.

Fly Drive

There are several airline providers who fly to this part of France. Some airports are within an hours drive (Perpignan in France and Gerona in Spain), others within two (Carcasonne, Beziers and Barcelona). The destinations and schedules change from season to season, so you will need to check for the time you are traveling. The following is a guide to the airline providers as at Summer 2011:

Trains

For those train lovers out there, the long anticipated high speed TGV train link from Paris to Barcelona is almost complete. As of 2011 the line is active as far as Figueres in Spain. You can now do Paris to Perpignan in just 5 hours. How you get to Paris will depend on where you are traveling from, but combined with the Eurostar from London's St. Pancras station this is one of the great train journeys.

Car

Alternatively, extending your holiday by driving through France is a third travel option. Cross the channel by Ferry or Eurotunnel then pick your route. We have driven it on many occasions. Stopovers to visit the World War battlefields of Northern France, Paris and Bourges are possibilities. Driving over the Millau bridge is also an experience to be had.
